In addition, modifications to the insert (e.g., to vary the mass or size of the insert) are readily achievable without tooling modifications.Item Open Access US Patent 6209995 - Ink Reservoir, Ink Reservoir Refill Container, and Ink Refill Process(2001-04-03) Grune, Guerry; Stow, II, Richard I; Watcher, HeidiAn ink replacement reservoir, refill container and refill method are provided. The replacement reservoir is reusable, and is used as an initial replacement for a previous single-use only reservoir. Once the initial replacement has been effected, subsequent replenishment of the reusable reservoir is accomplished utilizing a refill container or bottle. Since the refill container or bottle need not interface or fit within the confines of the image forming apparatus, it can be of a simple inexpensive design. To minimize the possibility of leakage or scattering of toner, the refill container preferably mates with the reusable replacement reservoir so that the refill container is opened only when mating with the reservoir and so that the refill container must be closed in order to disengage the refill container from the reservoir.Item Open Access US Patent 6490569 - System for Combining Life Cycle Assessment with Activity Based Costing Using a Relational Database Software Application(2002-12-03) Grune, Guerry; Grune, Carla O; Sharma, SanjayA method for analysis of environmental load burdens and associated costs for products, processes and services, which takes into account both life cycle assessment and activity based costing. If acrylamide is detected in the sample food substance, the resultant concentration, as determined on the calorimetric scale, provides the consumer of the food substance an opportunity to reject or discard the substance prior to digestion, thus promoting good health and avoiding potential ingestion of relatively high concentrations of carcinogenic potent acrylamides. Another variation of the detection device above may utilize pH balance meter and system similar to the calorimetric system utilized above, but which allows a numeric or digital reading of the concentration of acrylamides present in the sample of food. Another variation of the detection device may utilize infrared (IR) detection using an IR sensor to measure a sample and quantify the concentration of acrylonitrile within the sample by an absorption peak of the carbon-nitrogen (C≡N) triple bond in acrylonitrile in an IR spectra at 2250 cm−1 wavelength.Item Open Access US Patent 7507132 - Transparent Surfboard with Shark Locating and Repelling System(2009-03-24) Grune, Guerry; Segal, MarseaA transparent and shark-repelling surfboard or flotation board made of transparent super microcellular polymer foam with transparent coating.
