    Digital Repositories at Duke Homepage Usability Test - October 2019

    This study was conducted to test the usability of the HTML Mockup for the newly designed homepage of Digital Repositories at Duke. The study aims to test whether this page better could well serve as a landing spot that directs users to multiple repository services as well as clarity around the specific resources available within each platform. The recommendations were provided based on testing results. The study was developed and conducted by Manhua Wang and Robin Knight, with the guidance of Emily Daly and Will Sexton.

    DUL Subject Specialists Directory Usability Test - September 2019

    This study was an extension to the testing of staff directory conducted by Samantha Throne and Eden Andes on August 5th, 2019. This study aims to test the usability of the subject specialists directory page in relation to the functionality and experience of the search filter, as well as provide recommendations for improving subject specialists directory. The study was developed and conducted by Manhua Wang and Robin Knight, with guidance by Emily Daly and Thomas Crichlow

    Find Books in Perkins Library - November 2019

    This wayfinding study aims to understand how patrons are using current signage / directories existing in Perkins Library. The study was developed and conducted by Manhua, with the guidance of Emily Daly and Angela Zoss. On November 12th, 2019, we proceeded the formal wayfinding test located next to the Library Service Desk on the first floor of Perkins Library. Later, the study was modified by Angela Zoss to include as an activity in the Graduate and Professional Students Advisory Board (GPSAB) meeting on November 15th 2019. The recommendations were provided based on both usability testing and feedback from GPSAB.

    Summary from Student Advisory Board on Subject Specialist Directory Test - November 2019

    This study aimed to gather more feedback on the updated Subject Specialist Directory from student advisory board. The handout for the testing was developed by Robin Knight and Manhua Wang, with the guidance of Emily Daly, Thomas Crichlow and Angela Zoss. Two tests were conducted at an Undergraduate Student Advisory Board Meeting (UAB) on October 21st, 2019 and Graduate and Professional Student Advisory Board Meeting (GPSAB) on September 30th, 2019.

    Usability Test: Library Spaces Page Report - December 2019

    This study was conducted to test the usability of the newly designed Library Spaces Page which collects spaces in Duke University Libraries. It was developed and conducted by Manhua Wang and Robin Knight, with the guidance of Emily Daly and Thomas Crichlow. On November 22th 2019, we began our lobby testing by working with a pilot participant, a student employee from the library’s service desk, and then proceeded onto the lobby for usability testing. We were located outside of the Perkins Library where we recruited 7 participants. Robin Knight moderated the first four participants and Manhua Wang moderated the rest three ones. Each participant was given a voucher for a coffee or snack in exchange for their time. For result analysis, we also count our pilot test as we did not modify the script after that, resulting in a total of 8 participants.
