Institutions and Credit Ratings: Establishing the Relationship
Abstract
This paper explores the relationships between sovereign debt ratings and institutions,
with the goal of showing how institutions impact the rating that is assigned. The
thesis uses a regression model to investigate this issue. The overall conclusion is
that institutions matter very litte.
