Description
Eric Green, interview by Kathryn Maxson and Robert Cook-Deegan, Rockville, MD, 8 December 2011. In the early 1990s, Green completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Maynard Olson at the Washington University School of Medicine, before receiving appointments as Assistant Professor of Pathology, Genetics, and Internal Medicine and Co-Investigator in the Washington University Human Genome Center. In 1994, he was recruited to the Division of Intramural Research at the National Center for Human Genome Research (NCHGR), where he remained nearly until the completion of the HGP. In 2002, Green was named Scientific Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). In 2009, he succeeded Francis Collins as Director of the NHGRI.
