Abstract

In 2019, Emma Fulop and Bhargavi Karumuri conducted a network and landscape analysis of the Diversity and Equity in Environmental Program (DEEP) Collaborative, identifying key hubs, gaps in DEI initiatives, and recommending improvements. This study builds on their work to assess changes within the DEEP Collaborative and finds that while there has been notable progress in diversity and cross-group collaboration, the overall network structure remains largely unchanged. Therefore, in addition to Fulop & Karumuri's (2019) recommendations, we suggest the following: (1) Identify PESTLE barriers, (2) Build individual organization and collective resilience (3) Strengthen connections and build network resilience, and (4) Improve collective impact. By leveraging the DEEP Collaborative’s network and organizational strength, organizations can optimize resources and drive meaningful change in communities.
