Abstract
Zera Academy is a boarding school for middle and high school aged youth who lack the access and necessary resources to achieve equitable opportunities. Zera leverages the brilliance of each child to improve educational outcomes and demonstrate potential. Using the environment, the arts, athletics, and rigorous academic expectations, youth are able to explore their own passions. Youth in foster care particularly lack adequate access to social constructs, including higher education or vocational pursuits. Zera works to not only help youth pursue their passion, but also connect with family units, like-minded youth, and compassionate adults. By engaging with the environment, youth experience self and social discovery, enabling leadership within the walls of Zera Academy and long after they walk across the graduation stage. Zera Academy leverages rigor and high expectations, community based partnerships, strategic business partnerships, the environment, and opportunities for leadership to engage and inspire youth to become the leaders the world needs most.
