dc.description.abstract

This project provides The AES Corporation with a comprehensive analysis of the evolving U.S. nuclear energy landscape. As the nation decarbonizes its power sector, advanced nuclear offers reliable, clean energy. Despite its promise, nuclear faces high costs, long timelines, and regulatory barriers. This project evaluates where and how advanced nuclear, such as small modular reactors, can overcome these challenges. We assess market conditions, policy environments, and siting opportunities across the U.S. Key deliverables include a sector landscape assessment, technoeconomic analysis, and go-to-market recommendations. Our findings aim to inform AES’s clean energy strategy and identify where nuclear can play a transformative role.
